I'm linking up to share my Five for Friday!
Not so random today but
all 100th Day related
AND a day late!
Hey...I was EXHAUSTED
after yesterday!
IT'S FINALLY HERE!
1. 100th Day Doorway Sign!
This was a hit!
They loved seeing their names and were
SO careful all day!
I had 2nd graders stopping by ALL day
to let me know that I didn't do THAT with THEM
last year!
2. This activity was PRICELESS!!
I handed out all of the pictures upside down!
NO PEEKING!
I said go and they turned them over all at once!
OH...MY...WORD...
I wish I would have had a video camera!
Their reactions were HYSTERICAL!
I didn't even have my camera on me!
By the time I located it,
SOME of the hysterics had died down...some...
I used my iPad and the Old Fart Booth app.
Check out that post here!
I hung them up on the bulletin board in the hall and
(of course)
I had 2nd graders stopping by ALL day
to let me know that I didn't do THAT with THEM
last year!
3. My activity in our 100th Day rotations!
We grouped K-3rd graders together &
they rotated through five stations.
They got 100 dominoes and had to work together
to create something that wouldn't fall down until all
100 dominoes were standing!
We discussed patience and cooperation
before beginning. I let them know it was a
CHALLENGE!
(Didn't want tears and upset kids when they kept falling!)
Almost every group got 'er done
before the 20 minutes was up!
4. The famous balloon pop!
We forgot the teachers balloons this year!
I was so disappointed! Really..I was!
So were the kiddos!
5. 101 Dalmations
(not technically 100 but you work with what ya got!)
&
100th Day Snack
10 items of 10 different things!
We also did a writing activity, If I had $100
and read the poem I created!
They get a kick out of seeing
by Kim Short!
Funny from a Honey
During the dominoes,
a kiddo told me ALL he did was
breathe on it and they ALL fell down!
One of his partners, in a very serious voice, said,
"Well quit breathing then."
One little guy said to me,
"Mrs. Short, I feel like I'm going through
a car wash every time I go through that door!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Kim! I just blogged about Old Fart booth after I saw your post on it. Question - did you let your students chooses what features to put on (hat, glasses, hair) or did you just take their picture and then add the features yourself? Our 100th day is Thursday and I am curious :) Thank you for sharing!

The Brown-Bag Teacher
Cute! Our 100th day is on Monday. I took the students' pictures with the Aging Booth app. One was scared of his picture! They all screamed "I look hideous!" when they saw their picture.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I love the quotes! That's so funny that the second graders were jealous of what you did this year. I love your great ideas! Thanks for sharing!

Looks like you guys had a great time!!! I bet they loved that doorway sign! We don't celebrate the 100th day anymore (not sure why!).

I stopped by your bulletin board and want to tell you those old fart pictures are hilarious! They look so real. I hope parents keep that (and I'm sure most will). Some I could tell who it was and some I had to look at the name to identify. Definitely an activity to keep on the agenda for next year.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I just found your blog through Irene's (Learning with Mrs. Leeby) Linky party. The zebra print drew me in. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog design!!!!
